When you walk into a staged home you usually feel that immediately, they are normally dressed in a certain way to make the flat look more attractive, but you know that no one is actually living there. That was not the case in this particular property, when I walked in to take photographs I had a feeling that someone is home, even though I was told no one will be. I had a quick whiz around and it took me several minutes to realise that no one actually lives in the flat, it had just been staged so well. So many different elements gave this cosy and welcoming feeling, nice little touches which helped me to visualize the lifestyle of the people who could be living there.
Like the turquoise bike in the small bedroom, the beautiful vase with lavender in the kitchen, tea and coffee tins, stainless steel kitchen utensils hanging on hooks on the wall. In the master bedroom there was a beach bag full of beachwear suggesting the idea of leaving for holiday soon, a jacket hanged on the bedroom door. Finally the spacious lounge was flooded with sunshine while I was there, it had such a cool character with the beautiful colourful fireplace and old clock over it, just like in a movie. I had such a great time shooting the property. Apart from the usual wide angle I took my other lenses with me to capture these atmospheric details from a different angle, which helped me to create these quirky closeup shots alongside the standard ones.
